Visit to Sukoon Orphanage
Ahaan stood in front of Sukoon Orphanage, the sun casting a warm glow over the cheerful building. He was excited and a little nervous about his visit, eager to see the place that Amaira was so passionate about. As he walked through the gate, he saw children playing in the courtyard, their laughter filling the air.
"Mr. Malhotra! You're here!" Amaira's voice called out, and Ahaan turned to see her walking toward him, a warm smile on her face.
"Good afternoon, Amaira," Ahaan greeted, returning her smile. "I'm glad to finally visit the orphanage. It looks wonderful."
"Thank you," Amaira replied, her eyes shining with pride. "The children are excited to meet you. Come, I'll introduce you to everyone."
As they walked through the courtyard, children gathered around them, their faces filled with curiosity and excitement. Amaira introduced Ahaan to each child, who greeted him with enthusiastic hellos and shy smiles.
"This is Vidhi," Amaira said, pointing to a little girl with big, bright eyes. "She loves to play hide and seek."
"Nice to meet you, Vidhi," Ahaan said, kneeling to her level. "I hear you're really good at hide and seek."
Vidhi giggled and nodded. "I am! Will you play with us?"
"Of course," Ahaan replied, laughing. "But you have to promise not to hide too well, or I might never find you."
Amaira watched with a smile as Ahaan engaged with the children, his genuine warmth and kindness evident. She felt a renewed sense of hope for the orphanage's future, knowing that Ahaan's support could bring about meaningful change.
Later that afternoon, Ivaan arrived at Sukoon Orphanage to join his brother and Amaira. As he walked through the courtyard, he noticed a group of older boys gathered around a smaller boy, teasing him.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Ivaan called out, his voice firm. The older boys scattered, leaving the smaller boy looking relieved but embarrassed.
"Thank you," the boy mumbled, looking up at Ivaan with gratitude.
"Don't mention it," Ivaan replied, patting the boy's shoulder. "But if they bother you again, let me know, okay?"
Just as Ivaan turned to leave, he heard a cry. "Hey! Watch out!" one of the older boys shouted, and before Ivaan could react, he felt a hard push. He stumbled, trying to regain his balance, but ended up falling hard against the ground, scraping his arm.
A group of staff and Amaira rushed over, alarmed. Ahaan, who had been talking with another group of children, saw the commotion and quickly joined them.
"Ivaan sir, are you okay?" Amaira asked, helping him to his feet. Her eyes were filled with concern as she inspected his injury.
"Pls di don't call me sir , i am same age as you but some mon ths younger only , and it's just a scratch," Ivaan said, wincing slightly. "I'll be fine."
Ahaan's face darkened. "What happened here?" he demanded, his eyes scanning the crowd.
"It was an accident," one of the older boys said, looking guilty. "We were just playing around, and he got in the way."
Ahaan's expression softened slightly as he turned to his brother. "Ivaan, you need to be more careful," he said, his tone firm but laced with worry. "You can't just jump into these situations without thinking."
"I was trying to help," Ivaan muttered, looking down.
"I know," Ahaan replied, placing a hand on his shoulder. "But you have to be smarter about it. You're not invincible, Ivaan."
Amaira nodded in agreement. "Ahaan's right. It's important to be careful, especially when dealing with older kids. They don't always realize their own strength."
Ivaan sighed, understanding their concern. "I'll be more careful next time."
"Good," Ahaan said, giving him a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder. "Now, let's get you cleaned up."
In the afternoon , Ahaan decided to drive Ivaan back home. They were deep in conversation, discussing the orphanage and Amaira's dedication, when a car suddenly swerved into their lane. Ahaan reacted quickly, veering to avoid a collision, but the car clipped their rear bumper, sending them spinning off the road.
The car came to a stop on the shoulder, and for a moment, everything was silent except for the pounding of their hearts.
"Are you okay, Ivaan?" Ahaan asked, his voice strained with concern as he glanced over at his brother.
Ivaan nodded, his face pale. "Yeah, just shaken. What about you?"
"I'm fine," Ahaan replied, exhaling slowly. "Let's check the damage."
They got out of the car and inspected the vehicle. The rear bumper was badly dented, but fortunately, there were no other significant damages. Ahaan called for a tow truck and arranged for a ride back home.
As they waited, Ahaan couldn't help but feel a mixture of relief and frustration. He turned to Ivaan, his expression serious. "You see what I mean about being careful? We can't afford to be reckless."
"I know, bhaiya" Ivaan said quietly. "I'll be more mindful. I'm sorry."
Ahaan sighed, his anger dissipating. "Just remember, we're a team. We look out for each other."
An Unexpected Reunion
The same evening , Ahaan, Ivaan, and Amaira gathered with the children for a small performance Amaira had organized. The children sang songs and performed skits, their joy infectious.
Ahaan couldn't help but feel a sense of déjà vu as he watched Amaira interact with the children. Her nurturing nature and the way she cared for each child reminded him of someone he had once known long ago.
After the performance, Ahaan found himself sitting on a bench in the courtyard, lost in thought. He was trying to piece together a faint memory from his childhood, a friend he had lost touch with when he was very young.
Just then, his phone buzzed. It was a message from his grandfather, Dadu, who was out running errands. "Met a lovely young lady at the café today. She helped me find my way. Her name is Amaira. Reminds me of your childhood friend."
Ahaan's heart skipped a beat. Could it be? The Amaira he knew now and the childhood friend he had lost—could they be the same person?
Amaira's Encounter with Dadu
Earlier that day, Amaira had decided to take a break from the orphanage and visit a nearby café for a quick coffee. As she was about to enter, she noticed an elderly man looking a bit lost, glancing at a map.
"Excuse me, sir, do you need any help?" Amaira asked, approaching him with a friendly smile.
The man looked up, his eyes kind but puzzled. "Yes, my dear. I'm trying to find this bookstore, but these maps can be quite confusing."
Amaira chuckled, recognizing him from the family photos in the Malhotra mansion. "I can help you with that. It's just around the corner. If you don't mind, I can walk you there."
"That would be very kind of you," Dadu replied, his smile warm. "You remind me of someone. What's your name, dear?"
"Amaira Desai," she replied, her eyes twinkling. "And you?"
Dadu's eyes widened slightly. "Amaira Desai... My, my, what a small world. Thank you for your help, Amaira. You must join us for tea sometime."
"I'd love that," Amaira said, touched by his kindness. "It's been a pleasure meeting you, sir."
"The pleasure is all mine," Dadu said, patting her hand. "And please, call me Dadu."
Ahaan's Realization
Back at the mansion that evening, Dadu recounted his encounter with Amaira to the family.
"She was so helpful and kind. I told her she must join us for tea sometime," Dadu said, smiling at the memory. "And you know what? She reminded me of Ahaan's childhood friend."
Ahaan's mother looked up, interested. "You mean the little girl from next door? What was her name...?"
The same time Ahaan and Ivaan came back from the orphanage.
"What is going on here?" Ivaan equipped excitedlt as he saw his dadu smiling widely....
"Ohh do myou remember the little girl who used to play with you and ahaan in childhood , she used to love with her dadi the next door ....papa was just remebering her" Said Archana .
"Ohh yaa, i remeber her , what was her name ..?"Asked Ivaan ...
"Amaira," Ahaan said softly, the pieces falling into place. "Her name was Amaira."
Dadu nodded. "Yes, that's right. Such a coincidence, isn't it?"
Ahaan felt a surge of emotions—excitement, hope, and a touch of disbelief. Could it be true? Was Amaira the same girl he had shared his earliest memories with? He needed to know for sure.
That night, Ahaan couldn't sleep. The revelation about Amaira had stirred up memories and emotions he hadn't felt in years. He decided to visit her at the orphanage the next day, hoping to find some answers.
As he stood by his window, looking out into the night, his phone buzzed again. It was a message from Amaira. "Thank you for visiting Sukoon today, Ahaan. The children and I really appreciated it. Looking forward to our next meeting."
Ahaan smiled, his resolve strengthening. He typed a quick reply, "It was my pleasure, Amaira. I'll see you soon."
Little did he know, the next meeting would change everything. As he put his phone down and turned off the lights, he couldn't shake off the feeling that his life was about to take an unexpected turn.
The stage was set for the revelation of their shared past, and Ahaan could only hope that the truth would bring them closer, not drive them apart.
